Holly Eve featured in the Palm Beach Post!

I recently spent a few days with the folks at black and light ® at the largest gift show in the country in Atlanta, Georgia. A lot of wonderful and exciting things happened during the show, but I wanted to share what I think is one of my more interesting experiences during my time in Atlanta.
On a whim, an employee at black and light ® and I decided to take a press kit with information on the company over to the CNN building, which happened to be a few blocks from the trade show itself. We had the intent of leaving the press kit with the receptionist at the front of the building, hoping to generate some sort of media interest in the black and light ® story I’m sure many of you are familiar with. It was one of those “one in a million” type deals we thought we would take a stab at.
Upon arriving at the CNN building, we were told by the receptionist at the front that nothing could be left unless we had an actual contact inside the building in which we could direct the press kit to. Undaunted, we proceeded to call a number given to us by the receptionist that would ostensibly put us in touch with Human Resources.
To make a long story short, after receiving four “no’s” from different people, and going through what seemed like a billion different automated prompts, we finally were able to connect with someone in CNN’s communications department. We told them about the human interest element of black and light ®, that we were actually in the lobby of the CNN building, and wanted to see if we could get the black and light ® story into the hands of someone who might give the company some good media coverage.
They gave us the go-ahead to leave the press kit to be picked up by someone from the news tip department.
Even if nothing comes of it, it was a fun experience. Who knows? Maybe someone at CNN will catch on the black and light ® story! I felt it was worth a shot, because there truly are so many wonderful elements to the company. If I haven’t already emphasized them enough, I will do so again. black and light ® is a company that is not only environmentally friendly, but it is creating jobs in an economically devastated state. It employs mentally and physically challenged adults, and donates proceeds to important causes, like the “Save the Honeybees” campaign headed up by the University of California at Davis. And I can personally say, especially after spending a few days with them in Atlanta, that the people who are apart of black and light ® are wonderful, driven, and truly love what they are doing. And maybe someday soon we will see black and light ® featured on a major network like CNN!
That’s all for now. Stay tuned for more info on the trade show and more information black and light’s ® upcoming “Where’s the Dot?” campaign in the next week!
